What is the Stem Cell Facelift?
A Stem Cell Facelift is similar to the Stem Cell Facial as you receive microneedling. However, PRP gel is created and utilized as a biofiller in strategic locations and is utilized as a scaffold to build more collagen in the area – the areas are also pre-treated with AWT. Particularly useful in aging skin for those who do not wish to have a surgical facelift.
It may take several weeks to see the full benefit of this procedure; and can last for 1-3 years. We do not use artificial fillers here at MediJUV. Artificial fillers do little to improve skin tone and texture. Unlike most procedures, the Stem Cell Facelift offers a way of both restoring shape, and improving tone and texture, as well as literally rejuvenating new and younger tissue.
The Four Steps to a Stem Cell Facelift:
First, we use fillers to create a beautiful shape. Then, we isolate growth factors from the patient’s blood. When these growth factors enter the face (injected by our physician), the muti-potent stem cells become activated to grow new tissue. This new tissue includes new collagen, new fatty tissue (for smoothness), and new blood vessels (for a healthy glow).
1. Creating a Beautiful & Natural Shape
In the first part of the Stem Cell FaceLift procedure, the physician uses an Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler (like Restylane or Juvederm) in a very specific way to sculpt a younger appearing face–while still keeping the shape natural. These types of fillers are naturally found in the skin, and therefore are more biocompatible than artificial fillers.
We take into account the mathematics of beauty as defined by much research to avoid creating an unnatural shape. After creating a younger, natural shape, the physician harvests growth factors from a person’s own blood. These growth factors would normally be used to heal damaged tissue.
2. Isolating & Activating Platelet-Rich Plasma from Your Blood
First, one of our medical professionals draws about two teaspoons of blood. Then, using a centrifuge, isolates platelets from that blood (platelet-rich plasma or PRP)–all within about ten minutes in the office. Then, activates those platelets to cause the release from the platelets of at least eight growth factors that would normally be used to heal injured tissue. These growth factors work very well to cause increased collagen and new blood flow and ultimately rejuvenate the skin.
3. Injecting the Activated Platelets into Your Face
Using numbing cream and a very small needle for little pain, activated PRP is injected into the face. This stimulates your own growth factors in a particular way. Growth factors will then activate multi-potent stem cells already in the skin, tricking them into thinking there’s been an injury, and new younger tissue should be generated.
4. Recovery and Maintenance
The multi-potent stem cells then develop into new collagen, new blood vessels, and new fatty tissue trying to “repair” the skin that was never injured. The result is younger-appearing skin. The effects of the procedure improve for two to three months and last for at least one to two years.
